The City of Boston recently increased its system-wide data quality from 76.8% to 92.4% - an increase of 15% across the board – and achieved a new level of data maturity that is directly impacting the decision-making of both providers and funders. The city did this by conducting an HMIS Team led data quality effort that increased community understanding of the importance of data and performance in funding and program design through comprehensive training, the creation of a client-level data quality tool, a series of “How to Resolve” videos, and team-driven follow-up support with groups of individual providers. Come learn how our methods of community engagement, including with youth, DV, and non-HUD funded programs, created conditions that not only drastically improved our data quality but jumpstarted a data and performance environment that focuses on using data for decision-making.
